Students of grade 1 were asked to bring a leaf of
their choice. The students stuck their leaves on a news paper. Through this
activity they were able to differentiate leaves on the basis of their shape,
size and colour. They gained knowledge about the variety of leaves around us.
They enjoyed a lot..!!

Grade – 4 Let’s weave a food web
To make Science,
a fun loving subject, the activity of Food web was conducted in the class.
Teacher played the role of a producer. Students were asked to write the name of
any one organism on a piece of paper. Teacher was holding a thread as a
producer and then she asked the class to name the organism written by them on
the paper. As they named the organism, one by one, the students were made to
hold the part of the thread and they passed it to the other classmates in an
order of the food chain (herbivore to carnivore and small animals to big
animals). This is how, a complex food chain i.e. food web was created by the
students and they were amazed to see the web weaved by them.
Grade 2: Best out of waste
Children were asked to
bring different materials pertaining to plant and create a decorative article
in class. Children came up with creative things like ornaments from pistachio
shells, clock from dry twigs, pen stand from coconut shell, wall-hanging made
from jute, etc. Children immensely enjoyed the activity and also had a useful
productive time.
Grade 1, 2 and 3 : Math Shape Collage Competition
Shape collage competition was held on 2nd
July 2012. Students used their creativity and imagination to create their own
master piece on the given topic where students of grade 1 created animals,
students of grade 2 and 3 created nature and scenery. In this way,
students related Math with creativity.

Grade – 4 Adaptations in Animals
Every living
being adapt to the environment with the help of certain characteristics that it
possess. Students were asked to get the
pictures of the animals living in different habitat. Teacher created different
habitat and labelled it as Arboreal, Terrestrial and Aquatic etc. Students
placed their pictures in the suitable habitat and spoke about one feature of
the animal that helps them to adapt to the given environment.
Grade 2: Grandmother’s Recipe (Healthy living)
Grandparents volunteered for the activity. They
demonstrated the different home remedies. Example- The students were shown how
turmeric when boiled with milk could cure cold and cough. They were also shown
how a piece of ginger could cure indigestion. The activity was interactive, as
the students could relate with it. They were also explained how effective home
remedies could be.
