Plant cells:
An activity was conducted to observe a plant cell. Each student was given a spinach leaf and taught how to tear it across to obtain the dermal tissue. This tissue was then mounted on a slide and observed under the microscope.
This activity helped the students to understand the structure and appearance of dermal tissue cells. It also helped them to develop the skill of using forceps and a needle to separate out the delicate tissue from the leaf without tearing it.
