Dramatics

IMPORTANCE OF DRAMATICS
(Grade 1D)
Dramatics Art Education is an important means of stimulating CREATIVITY in communicating, an outlet for emotions, thoughts and dreams.
At the centre of all drama, is COMMUNICATION. Like all the arts, drama allows students to communicate with and understand others in new ways. It provides PRACTICAL training in different aspects of communication, so necessary in today’s increasingly information centered world.
Students who have participated in dramatic activities are less likely to have difficulty SPEAKING IN PUBLIC, will be more PERSUASIVE in their communications, both written and oral and will have a more POSITIVE, CONFIDENT SELF IMAGE.
Students in drama learn to WORK TOGETHER, to cooperate, to LISTEN and accept view points and contributions of others. Drama prepares them for a world which is increasingly becoming TEAM ORIENTED. It also helps the child to LOOK WITHIN and explore himself.
We at Rustomjee believe in the overall development of the child, therefore this new subject of dramatics has been added to the curriculum from grade 1 to grade 7. Through different activities they are given a chance to experiment and explore different expressions, body language, and voice modulation, facing an audience, team work and bringing out their hidden talent. Activities conducted during dramatic sessions are like:
A: saying a simple phrase with different tones and expressions.
B: building up a conversation from the snippet given.
C: complete the story and give a climax.
D: solo pantomimes.
E: pretend ideas.
F: using props creatively.
G: give dialogues and expressions to still pictures.
H: watch a mute movie and add dialogues. ETC.
