Grade 5 -ENGLISH based on lesson TRAPPED

GRADE 5 A, B, C- ENGLISH based on lesson TRAPPED

Today animal life is in peril and they fear extinction. To boost the morale of the pupils and inspire them about the diminishing wild-life which is time and again being exploited by humans, an activity was conducted to create an awakening among the students which will embolden their spirits in the near future to save animals which are in fear of extinction.

TRAPPED ACTIVITY 1-Habitats

Students made placards and put on four corners in the class room. The placards were named: Bird Table, Compost Bin, Pond and Meadows. Each student was allotted a particular animal or bird name and accordingly they had to go in search of their habitat and stand before the placard. In this way they learnt where the animals live and what they eat.

TRAPPED ACTIVITY 2-Cruelty towards animals

The teachers instructed the students to collect newspaper, internet and magazine articles based on cruelty towards animals. Accordingly they got them and assembled the pictures on colourful charts. They were asked to also put individual views on cruelty towards. The students came out with thought provoking statements and views which were neatly put down and were displayed in class. Here they were encouraged develop their skills to think independently and give views to an event. Thus this activity achieved the task of thinking skills.
