OBSERVATION OF XYLEM TISSUE IN THE STEM OF PERIWINKLE FLOWER.

Students of grade 7 were shown two periwinkle flowers, one of which was had its stem immersed in a test tube filled with eosin dye. The next day this flower turned red due to the xylem in the stem that transported the color from the tube to the flower.

Students were thrilled to see the pink colored periwinkle flower.
