Good afternoon,

Respected teachers and my dear friends,

With due respect to all our national leaders, who were the real ‘Patriots’ of our country, I would like to take about one such true patriot, who served her motherland till her last breath.

I am proud to be a girl child, as my ideal is Mrs. Indira Priyadarshini Gandhi, who was the 1st and only lady Prime Minister of India.

She was born on 19th November, 1917 in a family of patriots. From childhood only she was different from the other children of her age. At the age of 11, she organized the “Vaanae-Sena” whose purpose was to help, end British control in India.

She also started the “Family Planning Programme”. In 1971, she gave a slogan “Garibi Hataao” and in the sane year she sent India’s Satellite into space.

In 1974, she conducted India’s 1st nuclear test, making our country the youngest ‘Nuclear Power.

Her efforts to uplift India came to an end, when her own bodyguard shot her dead on 31st October 1984. Thus, she shed her last drop of blood and breathed her last serving her motherland “INDIA”.

Let us also follow her path and become strong pillars of India’s future. Today we can touch our hearts proudly and say “Saare Jehaan se Achha Hindustan Hamara.”

Independence Day

Khushi Shah- I E

We end a period of ill- fortune and India discovers herself again”-This are the words of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru on our first Independence day. India got freedom on 15th August , 1947. Many freedom fighters sacrificed their lives to free our motherland. On this special occasion, rich tributes are paid to our freedom fighters. The main program is held at Red Fort. Prime Minister unfurls our National Flag and it is saluted by guns. This national festival is celebrated with great enthusiasm all over the country.

Today, India is faced with many challenges like corruption, poverty, illiteracy, unemployment etc. As responsible citizen, we should free India from these challenges.

I love India. Jai Hind.

Good afternoon good teachers and my dear friends you may have heard words like “Azad, Swatantrata, Independence ”. But can you all tell me what do you mean by that? It means the service given by the great warriors like Gandhiji, Chacha Nehru, Subhash Chandra Bose. They all had lost their lives for our Nation, for our Country. They loved our country how we love our Mother. I love my country very much. So that I am going to sing a beautiful song.

Patriotism is the important sentiment associated with the country one lives in since the country is considered motherland or fatherland; it draws the respect of people. Thus, patriotism is a noble sentiment, as it is based on devotion and selfless sacrifice of the people.

It is the foundation that holds the structure of the nation. It is a pious sentiment and has always been adored by the people of all the nations.

All hold the patriots of their nations in high esteem. We build either their statues or memorials to remember and honour their great deeds.

As children of today, it is our responsibility to carry on their gifts handed over by our great leaders, who inspire us. Standingf for the National Anthem or saluting the flag is a patriotic expression, but standing for your country in all adversities is TRUE PATRIOTISM!!!
