Students of grade 8 performed an activity to check their pulse rate. The students were divided into two groups. One group had to go to the sixth floor and come back while the other group had to go to the second floor and come back. They checked their pulse rate by placing the two index fingers on their wrist. After the physical activity students breathing rate changed and this proved that oxygen consumption is more during physical activity.
Besides this the students also did an experiment to check osmosis and transpiration in plants. Samples of potato pieces were kept in sugar solution and water to check rate of osmosis.
