Gardening- Students of grade 2 were taken to the school
garden, and in groups of 5 they were asked to plant saplings.
Each group was given an empty pot along with some soil and a
sapling. The saplings were in the form of shrubs, herbs, climbers and trees.
Very enthusiastically the students learnt about the
different plants and planted each sapling.
They were explained the importance of the soil and how roots
hold the plant and absorbs the nutrition from the soil.
By the end of the activity the students could easily
differentiate between the different types of plants.
