Grade 6: Math Investigation- Building Bridges

On Monday, 30th July 2012 Math investigation was conducted in grade6. Students were divided in groups. They had to build an adaptation of Truss Bridge/ Cantilever Bridge. Truss Bridge was built of newspaper and Cantilever Bridge of straws. All the materials required to build the bridge were provided to the students. They had to build it in given duration of time and answer a few investigative questions. Investigation was on how strong was the bridge built and what was the maximum load can the bridge take. Working as team, students enjoyed it and completed the challenge well before time.
