Grade 1 and 2: Field trip to Ice-cream factory and Eraser factory

On 28th July ’12, Children of grade 1 and 2 were bubbling with excitement when the buses left for a day-long trip to the ice-cream factory and eraser factory. The first stop of the journey was – The Ice-cream factory, the most fascinating thing for the kids. The kids observed the process of making an ice-cream in huge machines. Explanation of the procedure was done by the owner himself. The factory specializes in many products like sundaes, candies, novelties etc. Looking at all the ice-creams surely created an appetite for our kids. At the end, they were treated with delicious ice-creams.
Our next destination was the Eraser factory. The factory had different units in the same premises, right from the raw material unit to manufacturing and finally the packaging unit. Kids in small groups moved around unit by unit to understand what goes in making an eraser. They were impressed by what they saw and learned. The packaging unit was the fanciest for them as many goodies lay packed in fancy coverings, ready to be sent to the retail shops.  Each child got eraser from the factory as a token to cherish forever.
