On 6th February, 2014, a parent volunteer activity “Business Plan and Product Launch” was conducted for grades 3 to 5. A few parents enthusiastically participated in the activity and helped children to understand the five P's of marketing namely Product, Place, People, Price and Presentation.
The concept, even though sounded like a matter of board room discussions, was presented to the children with such simplicity by the parents that it really seemed like child’s play. The parents took extra efforts to demonstrate to the children through the use of role plays, power point presentations, active interactions, charts, etc. The follow up activity gave the children the additional understanding of the concepts of marketing. The children ended the day with a satisfied feeling about the understandings of the parent’s worlds and the parents were also exposed to the naive worlds of the children.
