1. Why was it considered impossible to build a bridge connecting New York with Long Island?                  

Ans- It considered impossible to build a bridge connecting New York with Long Island because it just could not be done. It was not practical and also it had never been done before.

 

2. Why could John Roebling not ignore the vision he had in his mind?     

 

Ans – John Roebling could not ignore the vision he had in his mind because he thought about it all the time and he knew deep in his heart that it could be done. He just had to share the dream with someone else.

Ans - Often when we face obstacles in our day-to-day life, our hurdles seem very small in comparison to what many others have to face. The Brooklyn Bridge shows us that dreams that seem impossible can be realized with determination and persistence, no matter what the odds are.

Imagine you are Mr. Washington Roebling's wife in the above passage. Write a letter to your mother informing her about the incident that has taken place.

Make use of the following points:

I know I haven't written to you for a month now, but please try and under my situation here. I hope you and dad are doing just fine. You know in my previous letters I had mentioned about John wanting to construct a bridge connecting New York and Long Island……………
