Hello ………

How are you? I want to tell you about my experience while standing underneath the haunted tree waiting for my friends.

I stared at the empty bus stop. I swallowed hard and my hands started to shake. Being the first at the bus stop wouldn't be a problem if the old oak tree that marked the bus stop wasn't haunted."Where is everyone?" I whispered to myself. The sun wasn't quite up yet, and the darkness was making the oak tree look scarier than usual. The oak tree's branches swayed in the breeze, and I heard the strange "Ooooh" that sometimes came from the center of the tree. I hurried to the other side of the street, trying to stay as far away from the tree as possible. I didn't take my eyes off the tree. The bare branches looked like they were reaching out to grab me while I stood alone out there.

I heard the "Ooooh, ooooh" again. "Maybe you heard the ghost in the tree," Will said. "Oooh, oooh." We both jumped. Something moved across the hollowed out spot in the tree. "There's something in the tree," I said. I stood on tiptoes and peeked inside. "It's an owl!""An owl? That's what's making that strange noise?"Will asked. "Maybe its hurt," I said.

I felt very relieved when my friend, Will came to meet me and because he was there I was able to share my fear with him.  This experience was a frightening one but now I have learnt how to fight with my fears. I am happy I faced it well and all thanks to my friend Will for his co-operation.

Your loving friend,

Mark.
