Story Writing
‘How do we put down our creative ideas in to magnificent stories?’ This was the goal of the topic ‘Story writing’ for the grade 2 children in the current week. To make it more interesting children were taken to the projector room to see a PowerPoint presentation. ‘Ideas, characters and dialogues, settings and scenes, plots, ending … these are the elements of story writing; each one was discussed in the class.
These points were further reinforced in the next class when the children actually got down to the story writing part.
Comprehension
Children of grade 2 visited the projector room once again to see a PowerPoint presentation on Comprehension. Teacher displayed a slide of a passage which the children read aloud and answered few questions. Teacher discussed few points on how to comprehend the passage and answer the direct or indirect questions given in the passage. A very important part – ‘analyzing the text from the passage’ was also discussed in the class. Then, the children worked on a comprehension passage from their grammar books.
