Rain creatures
The topic of rain creatures was introduced to the children by showing real objects, power point presentations and also indulging in many different and simple activities on the same. One of them was a palm painting of the rainy bird peacock which was done individually in their art books on the 25th of August, 10. Children enjoyed immersing their palms in different colors and pasting them in their books. They were very anxious and excited to come forward and show their art work to their peers and to their teachers. Two group activities were also done which was a thumb printing of a frog where in children immersed their thumbs in green color and dabbed it on a picture drawn of a frog and the other was a sand painting of a snail where in children placed sand on a picture drawn of a snail which was done on the 26th of August, 10 and 27th of August, 10 respectively. They were very happy to see a big frog and a big snail which they had done together on the charts. Children had fun when these activities were conducted and it not only reinforced the concept of rain creatures but also helped enhance their social skills, fine motor skills and imagination. The recap of the rain creatures was done through songs where in children were asked to join in to sing the “Funny funny froggie” and “Nanni tere morne” songs.
