14th July, La FĂȘte Nationale, The French Independence day was celebrated in school with great fun and frolic. The children all dressed in the tricolor [blue, white and red- colors of the French flag], berets, small French beards etc made a very pretty picture.

The children began the festivities with a puppet show on “Goldilocks and the three bears” in French, followed by making their passports. They made French passports so that they could see for themselves what a French passport looks like, the Eiffel tower brooches was an activity to help them remember the colors of the flag and the order of the colors. The children had a great time munching into the Indo French meals laid for them. The children used fake Euros to understand the currency of France and the concept of Foreign exchange. They bought food items and Flea market goods using these Euros. The profits of the festival are going towards “Save the Tiger” project.

Later the children went to the Flea market to buy some goods to understand this type of market which is a common thing in France. Finally they had an inter house quiz competition to unwind and just test their knowledge on France.

This event would not have been a success if it wasn’t for the hard working teachers, enthusiastic students and cooperative parents.
