National Leader day

The National leader day was celebrated on 13th August’10 with great enthusiasm by the preprimary section of RCIS. The Reception class celebrated this day by dressing up in white, saffron and green colored clothes. The Preparation class children too came dressed in tricolored clothes and sang patriotic songs in their classes like “Nanha Moona Rahi hoon” etc. The children of the Foundation classes were also dressed up in tricolored clothes and danced on patriotic songs played in their classes. They sang patriotic songs like “Vande Mataram” and “We Shall Overcome”. On this day they also had a show and tell activity on National Leaders wherein children brought pictures of National leaders. Children were all excited to show the pictures of their favorite leaders which included Mahatma Gandhi, Subhash Chandra Bose, Indira Gandhi, Rani Laxmi Bai, Jawaharlal Nehru, Lokmanya Tilak and many more to their friends and teachers. Children came out individually and also spoke about the leaders. This activity not only increased their knowledge about the great heroes of our country but also instilled a feeling of pride in them to be an Indian.

The value of Independence being taught at the right age...kids are really looking cute holding flags and portraits of our great leaders.
