The respiratory system:

An activity related to the respiratory system was conducted in the biology class with the seventh graders.

Students were divided into groups. They were asked to get empty plastic bottles with the base cut off . During the class, they attached balloons to straws, sealed the opening of the bottle with clay and pushed the straws through it.

The straws represented the trachea and bronchi, the balloons – lungs, the bottle – chest region of the human body.

Students enjoyed blowing the colorful balloons to understand how the lungs expand and relax during breathing.
