Grade 2 children were shocked to know that even a sea bird gets injured due to the various marine activities. The English lesson – The lost gull is a story about a gull that is injured because of the oil covered on his wings. This value based lesson taught the children caring and being sensitive towards other creatures on this planet.
Teacher discussed with the children about the number of dolphins dying due to water pollution. The recent oil spill in the sea has left many sea creatures injured or dead. A newspaper article was shown to them with a dead dolphin washed on the shores of Mumbai. With this lesson the teacher also created awareness amongst the grade 2 children to be updated of the current affairs happening in our lives.
