Indian cuisine consists of the foods and dishes of all Indian states, there is no easy definition of an "Indian meal". This combines to create a diverse cuisine that never becomes boring. While our students of grade 3 were learning about the staple of different Indian states, they shared a variety of Indian food with their peers in the school.
Our enthusiastic students brought in homemade, Indian delicacies, right from idils to dhoklas and wadas, poha to biryani and choley. Sumptuous Indian sweets like rasagulla and modak added to the flavour. How can we forget the Indian mouth freshener ‘paan’, its masala tantalized our taste buds! At that moment with the mouth-watering dishes our classrooms looked more like a 5 star hotel.
The kids not only ate the food, but they also saw and smelt the Indian spices and thus appreciated the taste and aroma of different spices in our Indian cooking.
