Grade 3 Science: Lesson 2 – Plants And Their Parts

Specimens

 

The students were shown the following specimens:

Whole Plant: Parts of the plant like Root, Stem, Leaves, Flowers, Fruit and their functions were discussed.

Shoot: Ajwain – Stem conducts water and holds leaves, flowers and fruits.

Tap Root: Carrot – A tap root which stores food.

Fibrous Root: Grass – Has a number of thin roots and rootlets.

Ferns: Non Flowering Plant – Reproduces with spores.

Cactus: Stores water. Leaves are modified into thorns.
