Design and Technology Level 1
Electromagnet
An Electromagnet works on a principle that an electric current flowing through a conductor produces a magnetic field.
Electromagnets are widely used in devices like Electric Bells, Locks, Loudspeakers, Transformers, and so on.
Students used simple materials like copper wires, iron nails and batteries to make electromagnets.
Please note: Following picture shows the magnetized iron nail attracting a steel pin.
