Activity: Waterproof Feathers of Aquatic Birds
This was an experiment to understand how the oil coated feathers of aquatic birds help them to survive in aquatic environment.
Demo: a piece of paper when dipped in water, soaks water and sinks.
If the paper is coated with wax (wax crayons were used for this purpose), wax will prevent it from absorbing water and the paper floats.
