Grade 5 - Answer key: Unseen comprehension

1. What happened to the animals after the fire? Where did they begin to live?

The forests animals had to look for a new place to live after the fire. Some of them went to other forests, some of them went to parks, and some of them actually had to make their little homes in the yards of human beings.

2. Why did Kathy say 'This must be a trick'?

Kathy said these words as all the three friends had gone inside the house to fetch celery sticks but, when they came out the carrot sticks arranged on the plate had disappeared.

 

3. What did the kids notice when they were eating their sandwiches?

When the kids were eating their sandwiches they noticed that the juniper bushes around them were moving and when they looked carefully they saw a rabbit.

 

4. What suggestion did Thomas give to confirm that the rabbit had stolen their food?

Thomas suggested arranging a few carrots and celery at the edge of the bushes, and watching from the window if the rabbit eats them.

 

5. Why did the kids worry about the rabbit all winter?

The kids worried about the rabbit all winter thinking was he cold, was he scared or did he move somewhere else.

6. If you were to find a rabbit in your yard, how would you take care of it?
