·           What event do you plan to organize and why?

·           Who will be invited and why? Describe all that will take place at the event.

·           How did you feel about being responsible for such an event at your school?

My school needed to have a fundraiser so that we could earn money to buy more computers for our school. I had a fabulous idea for the fundraiser. As I knew many of my classmates' families were from different countries around the world, every student could bring in their favourite dish and we could have a traditional dinner night. My teacher appreciated the idea and she called this event as ' Dinner Around The World'.

For this event parents were invited, as guest.  I knew they  would be glad to pay money in order to try foods from all over the world. For dinner I bought my favourite meal, chicken dumplings, with mashed potatoes. My  friend Amina was from Ethiopia, an African country. She brought in stewed beef with spices over rice pilaf with Ethiopian bread.  Ibrahim was from Morocco, he brought a dish of spiced grilled lamb over white rice with fried eggplant and hummus with pita bread.  Leny, from Mexico, brought chicken fajitas with Spanish rice and tortilla chips with cheese dip. Rajat, from India, brought in chicken curry over rice with raita, a sauce of yogurt mixed with cucumber. Jane, a vegetarian, brought lentil soup, dinner rolls, and a delicious salad. Indeed it looked we were around the world and ate different types of food.

I was blissful as this event was successful and my teacher and classmates worked together as a team to earn money for our school. I would love to take many more responsibilities for my school.
