The introduction of a new subject i.e. ‘Social Studies’ in grade 3, usually brings along with it a lot of anxiety and curiosity among students and parents! At the outset, and at the beginning of the academic year 2010-11, students’ excitement knew no bounds when the study of ‘Our Earth’ was done in the class with a ‘geoid’ shaped peach in the teacher’s hand! The various layers of the earth i.e. crust, mantle and core were explained and exhibited. The experience and learning of this activity in class has brought in a lot of energy and enthusiasm to learn more in this subject! Wait and watch for more in store……..!
