The class was divided into six groups. Each group was given two set of cut outs of sentences. The students had to arrange the given cut outs into meaningful sentences. The next the students had to identify the subject and the predicate .Each group was asked to come forward and write the subject and the predicate under the column put up on the board. Next they had to identify the verb, object and the complement and write it on the board under the appropriate column. This helped the students to understand as to how to identify whether a sentence is a simple. Then the students were asked to come up with more sentences of their own and classify them accordingly.
