Students of grade 4 did a starch test using Iodine solution on various food items. Teacher took various food items like biscuit, rice, pizza, pear, potato, egg, chapatti, wafers, khakra, puri etc from the students tiffin boxes to conduct starch test. Teacher put little Iodine solution on each food item and explained that if the colour of the food item changes to blue, it indicates the presence of starch in the particular food item. Students observed most of the food items changing into blue colour which indicated the presence of starch in them. They were very excited to see the food items changing its colour.
