Newspaper Relay RaceGrade 4 students took part in the ‘Newspaper relay race’ on 11th February, 2010, as a part of their Science chapter ‘Fun with air’. Students were taken to the lobby and were divided in to four groups. Students in each group stood in a line and the first runner held a large open newspaper in her hands. The first runners ran up to a specified distance and back, to hand over their newspaper ‘batons’ to the second runner, and so on.
Students then recorded their observations in their workbooks. They understood that running in the direction of wind was much easier than against it; some of them even related the experience to the sail of a ship or a sailboat.
